Willis Insurance Agency was established June 1, 1988 and is owned and operated by Mavis Willis. Mavis has been a “captive agent” with Cotton States Insurance and has been effectively helping clients protect themselves for 22 years. In August 2010 Cotton States announced the “pull-out” of Florida effective Nov 1, 2010 citing the rising cost of insuring homes in a state affected by hurricanes as one of the reasons for leaving. This has created a unique opportunity due to Mavis being freed of her captive status allowing Willis Insurance Agency to offer many more choices from other top rated companies to their customers.
Willis Insurance Agency now has 21 new auto and homeowner companies to offer their customers which include A-plus rated carriers such as, Travelers, Auto Owners, Hartford, Mercury and AAA to name a few. In addition Willis Insurance Agency is now utilizing some of the most sophisticated and innovative software available in the insurance industry that can quickly compare and identify the best available coverage at the best price for their customers. Mavis has also added her son Ron to the Willis Insurance Team as a new agent. Ron brings 14 years of sales experience as well as extensive computer program engineering background that has been crucial in the design and implementation of the new rating system that they now have in place. The rating system securely applies customer’s info one time to all our carriers and quickly gives us the top 5 offerings. Mavis and Ron are very excited about the future and their ability to offer customers more choices.
